The Ossining Public Library hosted “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” author Jeff Kinney recently, an event that drew more than 200 children, parents and others, library officials said.
Kinney talked about how his popular book series was inspired by experiences he had with his brother growing up. He answered questions and participated in a book signing and even, at the prompting of a child, recorded a youtube video.
This only bears out what one of the Children’s Librarians at the Ossining Public Library remarked about Jeff, stating that Jeff Kinney’s work and personality appeal to both the young and the young at heart. Readers of all ages embrace his down-to-earth characters, who reflect exaggerated childhood struggles, mischievious tendencies and in general the free-for-all of growing up.
