Students and staff from the Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES recently delivered 160 baby hats and 17 lapghans they crocheted to the Peekskill-based West Ledge Health Care Facility and Hudson Valley Hospital Center.
The project was initiated by the BOCES Wellness Committee and involved both staff and Fox Meadow High School students, in addition to students and staff who donated yarn. The hats are designed to fit newborn and premature babies.
Participants included: Typhani Nazario (Peekskill), Jeremy Gonzalez (Lakeland), Ricky Rivera (Pawling), Krysta Patrick (Peekskill), Michelle Rodriguez (North Salem), Victoria Harris-Bates (Lakeland), and Gjoke Smajlaj (Brewster). Teachers included Helen Jerolimo of Putnam Valley and Patty Lucido of Cortlandt Manor.
