Tony Grasso is no career politician, but he’s made political involvement something of a second career.
The longtime Republican committeeman and one-time chairman last sat on the Town Board in 1991. But he’s been a regular at Town Hall meetings since and is never shy about weighing in on issues that confront the town, from labor consolidation — loves it — to the idea of a town manager — not so much.
“I felt I could do more from the outside than I could do from the inside,” he said over coffee at the Yorktown Coach Diner.
Grasso was recently honored by the Yorktown Rotary at its 60th anniversary gala March 11 with the Paul Harris Medal, the club’s highest honor for service.
“To me it’s a question of giving back to your community,” he said.
