Putnam Valley Republican vies for 90th State Assembly seat

Posted by: Marcela Rojas - Posted in Ossining on May 24, 2010

William Gouldman of Putnam Valley officially announced his candidacy today for the 90th State Assembly District.

The seat is currently held by Sandy Galef. Gouldman, a Republican, ran against the Democratic incumbent in 2008, castigating her then on what he described as her “tax-and-spend record.” He lost and Galef went on to serve her eighth ninth term.

Gouldman owns a bar/restaurant in Manhattan and is active in the Putnam Valley Lions Club and the Putnam Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

The 90th Assembly District covers Ossining, Cortlandt, Peekskill, Putnam Valley, Philipstown and Kent.

Bill was also involved in Bronx GOP politics. He challenged Eliot Engel for Congress in 1990 and Assemblyman George Friedman in 1992.

    I wish him luck.
