Yorktown teen charged in mugging

YORKTOWN — Gregory M Bellamy, 19, of  Yorktown was charged today with robbery in a mugging Thursday night in the parking lot of the 7-eleven convenience store on Commerce Street, police said.

Bellamy, of 2333 Willoway St.. allegedly punched a 24-year-old Yorktown resident in the face around 10:30 p.m. in the store parking lot and stole $30 from his wallet.

The victim went to police around 12:30 a.m. today and filed a complaint.
Police contacted Bellamy, who appeared voluntarily at police headquarters at 7:20 a.m. and was charged with third-degree robbery, a felony.

He was released on $2,500 bail and was ordered to appear Tuesday in Town Court.
