Peekskill’s Middle School Concert was held in the school’s auditorium featuring 85 members of the middle school chorus. Read below for more information from the school district on the event:
The Peekskill Middle School Winter Concert was a first in the new auditorium, and the student singers and musicians did their beautiful location proud. The concert began with the 85 young men and women in th Peekskill Middle School Chorus
Monique Brown and Alexandra Sanchez sang solos for “Hello Goodbye” by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, with a rousing arrangement from the television show “Glee.” With soloists Nicole Kropf and Jada McCrae, the chorus also performed another John Lennon song, “Imagine,” as well as “One Candle” by Andy Beck and Brian Fisher and “Up on the Roof” by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. Music teacher Lawrence Del Casale directed the Chorus.
The Peekskill Middle School Concert Band filled the stage, and the 78 students under the direction of music teacher David Thomas presented: “The Lone Eagle March,” “Appalachian Overture,” “Shenandoah.”
The Woodwind Sextet, consisting of Christine Landry, Kiarra Navarro, Ariel Ortiz, Oswal Perez, Stephany Sanchez, Kristen White performed Haydn’s “Arietta in A.” “William Tell Overture” Giocomo Rossini, arr. by J. Griffin, “Maria,” Leonard Bernstein, arr. by E. Osterling special guest – Johnna Hayward, piano, “Tempest” Robert W. Smit
