Three playing fields at the Frank E. Lindsey Elementary School were badly damaged by someone driving a truck over them. A softball, field hockey and practice football field were gouged by tire tracks, and district administrators say the fields won’t be usable until at least Monday, Oct. 17. The athletic staff is trying to find alternate fields and reschedule events. The administration has contacted police and is looking for anyone involved in the destruction to be prosecuted. The district’s insurance company may provide some funding to cover the cost of repairs, which are still being tabulated.
