District 3S of New York State Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) will holds its annual Fall District Meeting at Lakeland High School. State Vice President for District 3S, Jash Patel, State Treasurer, Aatish Bathija, and Board of Trustee member, Ms. Charlene Nigro, have worked restlessly towards creating one of the most momentous Fall District Meetings in history. This conference can result in over eight chapters attending. After endless preparation District 3S’ Fall District Meeting will be filled with educational workshops, countless networking opportunities, and of course, a memory that lasts a life time.
This conference will compose of several impactful events. First, the members of district 3S will hold the power to change the course of NYS FBLA by either voting for or against an increase of dues. These dues are used directly towards NYS FBLA to increase students experience in this spectacular organization. Second, each chapter attending will pick two students to compete in the Battle of the Best. The winner will hold bragging rights as the most knowledgably chapter within District 3S until our Spring District Meeting in February. These students will also participate in three sessions of workshops, which include advice on how to become a state officer and unique, cost efficient ways to fundraise for our state charity, the Ronald McDonald House.
As expected, students will learn valuable skills that they never knew they contain in themselves. During the dinner, students will be given the opportunity to create life long relationships and network with an abundance of students from across the district. Students will also be given the opportunity to extend their leadership skills to the next level. They are given the opportunity to apply for one of the several prestige district officer positions. As district officers they will be given the responsibility to improve NYS FBLA from a district level, which will inevitably affect national FBLA. These leaders will be looked up to by all members to express each members thought and voice to NYS FBLA. After an intense application review, interview session, and careful review by the State Officers (Jash Patel and Aatish Bathija), these district officers will stand in front of everyone at the closing session as the 2011 – 2012 district officers.
Finally, after a long, intense day of unlocking their true potential, students will leave Lakeland High School with confidence, unbelievable skills, and of course the motivation to continue to become the future business leader of America. They will return to their chapter, with a smile on their face and the image of a leader. As they continue to better their school, NYS FBLA, and of course their community, they will never forget the most memorable meeting of the year thus far. Any question regarding this unforgettable conference may be sent to NYS FBLA Vice President for District 3S, Jash Patel, at SVP3S@nysfbla.org.
