The Lakeland High School Cheerleaders will host their 3rd Annual Cheer-U-Topia Cheerleading Competition Saturday, Nov. 5 at Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak.
Approximately 25 high school and recreational cheerleading teams from Westchester/Rockland/Putnam are scheduled to compete. This will be the first competition of the fall cheerleading season held locally, and all teams have been diligently practicing. The Lakeland High School Varsity Cheerleaders will also conduct an exhibition of their routine during the competition.
The event begins at 5 p.m. for recreational teams and 7:30 p.m. for high school teams.
Admission is $8 per adult, $5 for senior citizens and students/children. Those 5 years and younger are free.
Additionally, Cheer-u-Topia will hold “Cheer Olympics”, where the girls will compete in a variety of tumbling and stunts to raise money which will be donated to Support Connection. Support Connection is a local not-for-profit organization that provides emotional, social, and educational support services to women, their families and friends affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
