Rev. Higgins said: “These kids are worth it, they’re worth it…..They’re worth every step and then some!” Like most Catholic schools today, Assumption struggles to make ends meet.
“The costs are skyrocketing,” says Higgins, “If one were to look purely at the financials one would say it is burden, and, yet, I see more that the balance sheet. I’m given a front-row seat to the mission and the miracle that is Assumption School. I see it in the faces of our kids so eager to learn, so polite and respectful. I see it in their teachers who care and want the best for them. I see it in our parishioners and friends from surrounding communities who have embraced these children as their own! That’s the kind of stuff that can’t be measured on a balance sheet.”
