Here’s a schedule of upcoming meetings for input on a new superintendent for the Hendrick Hudson School District:
The Hendrick Hudson Board of Education wants to hear from all members of the community about the qualities they most value in a superintendent of schools.
“We look forward to hearing what’s important to the members of our community, our school district employees, students and parents. But we also want to hear from our seniors who have so much to offer and from those whose children are not yet in the school system,” said Board of Education President Mary Pat Briggi. “Hendrick Hudson really is a community and the schools belong to everyone.”
To facilitate obtaining input, the Board of Education has scheduled several meetings throughout the community. The meetings will be hosted by Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, which is conducting the superintendent search for the district. BOCES’ representatives will then report back to the board.
“We’ve scheduled these meetings for the public to give us input on the qualifications, values and leadership qualities they would like to see in the district’s next leader,” Mrs. Briggi said, adding that times and locations were chosen for the convenience of various groups.
Dr. Daniel T. McCann retired last June, after serving as Hendrick Hudson’s superintendent of schools for six years. Dr. Brian D. Monahan, former superintendent of Rockland Central School District, is serving as interim superintendent for the current school year.
Community meetings will be held:
Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 1 p.m. at Village of Buchanan Hall (Buchanan Senior Citizens)
Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m. at the High School Library (Parents, PTA and HHCEF)
Wednesday, Dec. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the High School Library (Community)
Thursday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m. at Verplanck Schoolhouse (Cortlandt and Verplanck Senior Citizens)
Community members who are unable to attend any of the meetings can still provide input on the next superintendent by filling out an online survey at http://www.henhudschools.org/supsearch
