BOCES students have been honing their robotic skills and competing with other teams around the region….
Yorktown Heights — Robots may not have taken over the world yet, but Tech Center students from Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES were determined to see just how far they could go when they competed in the Hudson Valley Championship Tournament of the FIRST Tech Robotics challenge at Pace University last month.
Telecommunications students and New Visions Engineering students competed in separate groups, with the Engineering students placing second in the competition.
The FIRST Tech Challenge is a robotics competition for high school students, with more than 2,500 teams participating around the country this year. At the end of qualifying matches, the best teams compete at the world championship in St. Louis in April.
