Vercruysse helped Yorktown open the season with a pair of big wins. He finished with four goals against Columbine, and came up with three goals and one assist against John Jay.
Greg Drillock (Pleasantville/Midfield): He scored three goals and handed out seven assists in wins over Nyack and Pelham.
Brendan Halloran (Pleasantville/Attack): Totaled eight goals and six assists in wins over Nyack and Pelham.
Trevor Koelsch (Yorktown/Defense): Anchored the Huskers defense, which only gave up nine goals against Columbine and John Jay. He locked off John Jay standout Tom Beck and shadowed the leading offensive threat in Colorado.
Matt Ledwin (Hen Hud/Midfield): In wins against North Salem and Carmel, he won 37 of 38 faceoffs, scored four goals, dished out three assists, and picked up 23 ground balls.
Kyle Michella (North Rockland/Attack): Got the Red Raiders off to a good start with two goals and 13 assists in wins over Pine Bush and Valley Central.
David Rubenstein (Somers/Attack): Threw in three goals in his first varsity start, a 12-7 win over Putnam Valley.
