News from the Ossining school district on a “screen-free” events:
Tired of seeing your child tied to computer, television and video game screens? The Ossining Early Childhood PTA has two events for you.
To celebrate National Screen Free Week (formerly No TV Week) the Early Childhood PTA is offering two activities for Park and Brookside school families: Family Game Night at Park School Tuesday, April 30; and Family Sports & Activity Night at Brookside on Friday, May 3.
Game Night, which runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., will feature Bingo, card games and board games and popcorn and water will be served. Family Sports & Activity Night runs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. wheelbarrow and sack races, t-ball and soccer games for the whole family. Fresh fruit and water will be served.
Family Sports & Activity Night will be a great way for kindergartners to be introduced to their new school at Brookside. Screen Free Week is a national celebration in which families, schools and whole communities turn off entertainment screen media like televisions, video games, email and mobile apps and instead spend time playing, creating, reading, exploring nature and enjoying family and friends.
