No new school board hopefuls in the Croton-Harmon district took advantage of the extended deadline to file for the May 21 Board of Education election.
That leaves five candidates running for the seats held by board members Teri Lukin and Beth Roth, who are not seeking re-election.
Originally, six candidates filed their papers with the district clerk by May 1, earning their places on the ballot. But the deadline was extended to 5 p.m. Tuesday when one candidate, W. Ray Fortini, withdrew.
The candidates are Joshua Diamond, Yariv Alpher, Brian Aspinwall, Jason Stern and Iris Cross-Bugliosi
