A Candlelight Vigil for Katelyn and Marc02.28.10

Candlelight Vigil

A moving candlelight vigil was held for Katelyn Lonergan and Marc Napolitano, Yorktown residents who were killed on January 10th in a crash in upstate, New York, at the Yorktown Gazebo Feb. 28, 2010. Mbira and Me02.02.10

Mbira

The class is specifically designed to teach African and other cultures throughout the world and how they have influence culture here in the United States, not just to celebrate them during a specific month but throughout the year.

The class was lead by Kevin Nathaniel Hylton who also taught children traditional songs and dance.  The program was made possible by a grant from Ossining Matters Education Foundation.  ( Ricky Flores / The Journal News )
